Alḥamdulillah, Al-Ansar successfully completed the construction of our very first water hand pump in Sironko, North Mbale, Uganda. This landmark project marked the beginning of our water initiatives in the region and now serves over 500 people in the surrounding area. For a community that previously struggled with limited access to clean and safe water, this pump has become a vital lifeline.

Before its installation, many families were forced to travel long distances to collect water, often from unsafe sources that posed serious health risks. Today, the new hand pump provides reliable, clean water for drinking, cooking, washing, and daily use. It has significantly reduced the risk of waterborne illnesses and eased the physical burden placed on women and children who were primarily responsible for fetching water.

Beyond meeting basic needs, this project has strengthened the entire community. Children can focus on their education instead of walking for water, households can maintain better hygiene, and overall wellbeing has improved. As our first water pump project in Sironko, it represents hope, sustainability, and a lasting Sadaqah Jariyah for everyone who contributed towards making it possible.
